Disability History Month

2019 saw the Students' Union host it's first ever programme of Disability History Month events, championed by our Students with Disabilities Officer.

Disability History Month occurs nationally across November and December, to celebrate the contributions and history of disabled people and to promote activism in the face of ableism.

Some highlights of last year's programme included sensory friendly meetups, signed screenings and wheelchair basketball tasters for all abilities.

Wheelchair basketball has proven so popular at Sussex that it's become a regular Active US session at the Sports Centre - so come and play!
