Tasks
.Make regular contact with your Buddies prior to Freshers’ Week and to be available for them during the Autumn Term and Spring Term (if you choose to continue for 2 terms). Signpost to any services they may require such as relevant student support services, social activities and local services. Offer friendly support and share personal experiences and tips about the University of Sussex and the city of Brighton to help the new student settle in and make the most of their time at Sussex. Help Buddies find activities they may be interested in, such as Union sports and societies. To attend virtual events with their buddies to help them integrate into the Sussex community and meet others. Respect confidentiality, unless you feel that your buddy is at risk to themselves or others.

- Facilitate students’ language learning through activities for specific languages at the Virtual Language Cafe. - To assist the Language Café Leaders with any other tasks necessary to ensure the smooth running of the session as required. - Assisting with organisation of the Virtual Language Cafe.
Location
The Virtual Language Cafe's will take place weekly over Zoom.
What kind of support/supervision will you receive?
- Fully supported by the Participation and Volunteering Team, - Attend a online training session, - Regular meetings (online) with supervisor, - If you have access needs to contact the Language Cafe ([email protected])
