We know it's been really tough to get access to cheap food and essentials when you've been told you need to isolate, and we're working on solutions, including working with students to set up a Mutual Aid group at Sussex.
Meanwhile, Morrisons have been in touch saying that they have introduced a new cheaper door-to-door delivery scheme for students in isolation! It costs £2 (rather than the usual £4.50). There's no minimum order, but obviously we recommend getting supplies for a few days at a time if you can.
How it works: You go onto the Morrison’s website, write down the things you want, and then call the customer services team on 0345 611 6111 and tell them your order. Do this before 5pm to receive your order the next day. They will drop off your delivery on your doorstep and step away, allowing you to come and make the transaction on their card reader.
There are 25 deliveries available per day, so do pass on this message to people isolating who need this the most.
We’re still really keen to hear about your experiences of campus life, so please fill in our survey and let us know: http://bit.ly/covid19campus
On Tuesday 13th Oct at 13:00 we’re asking all students on campus to join us (virtually) to help put together ideas for a Sussex mutual aid group. If you want to be involved with supporting your fellow students then come along and bring your ideas.
