With uncertainty lingering over Christmas and next term, we want to help our students wherever possible. We hate that students are feeling lonely and stressed, and so we’ve launched a telephone support service to check in and see how you’re doing, and how we can help.

How does it work? How do I request a phone call?

This service is currently put on hold.

Leave us your phone number and someone from the Students' Union will get in touch with you within a week, for a quick and friendly phone call to check in, see how you’re doing and ensure you have access to the support you need, whether that’s practical assistance or information.

This opportunity is open to all students. All you have to do is sign up and you’ll get a 10-15 minute check in call.

Why are you doing this?

Because we care. We listened to your feedback, gathered by your Elected Officers through student forums and feedback forms, which requested more personalised communication from the university and the Students Union’.

A recent survey conducted by WonkHe, which included Sussex students and those from across the country, showed that an alarming number of students are feeling isolated and lonely. 

52.1% respondents feel lonely regularly (either every day or every week), with 34.4% feeling lonely less than weekly.

We want to help, and that’s why we are launching this new Student Check-in service to support students the best we can through these times.
