FemSoc Freshers' Book Club

No upcoming dates - see all dates

Come and join Sussex Fem Soc’s first book club meeting! Using Microsoft Teams, we will virtually host a book club meeting every fortnight from 2-4. You can come and go as you please, using this first session as a taster!

In order to avoid creating a heavy load for the first session, we are keeping it light with a short but insightful essay by Roxane Gay, an excerpt from her collection Bad Feminist. We feel this is a brilliant text for the first book club meeting, as it will prompt an open discussion on topics such as what feminism means to us, and the tensions that exist between feminist ideals and the ways we live our indivudual lives, and areas that the movement needs to work on.

Access to the essay is via this link:

This event will be a great opportunity to engage in meaningful, open and non-judgmental discussion with other feminists and book lovers! It will also provide us as a committee to hear what texts our members would like to see going forward.

Hope to see you there! You can register for our event using Eventbrite, link below:
